How to Adopt a Pet

Having a pet is a big responsibility and a long term commitment. Our goal is to find a permanent, loving home for every shelter animal.

Adopting

Potential adopters must fill out an application for adoption. Our process is designed to help determine if the pet’s needs and the adopter’s expectations for that pet are compatible.

  • The manager reviews your application, calls veterinary references and landlord (if applicable) and will contact you to review questions in one to two days.

  • When an application is approved, CHA ensures that all medical care is completed  and arranges a pick up date and time with the adopter. See the Animals for Adoption page to learn what medical care we provide.

  • The adoption fee of $75 per cat/kitten and $120 per dog/puppy must be paid in full at the time of pick up.

ANNOUNCEMENT

For a limited time all cat & kitten adoption fees are reduced to only $37.50! That's half of the regular fee and every feline is sterilized, vaccinated, and health checked. We have many wonderful companions to choose from.
