This is Niko. While he was at your shelter he was named Perciville. He was an animal abuse/neglect case. The day we picked him up he was SO scared, he peed all over your staff member. We took him home and if we looked in his direction he would pee. We along with our other two dogs showered him with love. He wouldn't come out if other people were here and he would hide under the computer desk... Now, He has grown up into a beautiful loving family member. He's still a little shy when it comes to new people (especially men) and he's really afraid of the septic truck but he is SO sweet and a GREAT addition to our home. I knew he would be happy here and he's come a long way!! He's now about 120# and spoiled rotten!!
Niko (aka Perciville) is coming out of his shell more and more. This summer he's finally starting to play instead of just watching the other dogs play. He catches the football when I throw it. He's not so afraid of people (well maybe the first 5-10 minutes then he's fine) anymore but he absolutely HATES the septic truck and thunder storms and likes to try and fit under my desk during those times. I can't thank you enough for such a wonderful furbaby. He has blossomed over the years and I just wanted to share a few pics of him with you.
I still remember the day we came to pick him up and he was SO afraid he peed on your volunteer when she picked him up to give him to us. To look back he's come such a long way. He's blossomed from a very frightened puppy who hid under the bed for days and peed when you even looked his direction to a handsome, playful, ever so loving pup who thinks he's a lap dog. He is doing so well! He loves our other dogs, our cats, and the bunnies. I'm really glad we adopted him and I think he's happy too. I can't believe he's already 4. With patience and love he's really coming around and as he grows more of his personality shines through. Not sure what I would do without him!! Thank you!
