Ways to Give
At CHA, we want every individual who is interested to be involved in a way that suits his/her lifestyle and abilities. Some people like to donate money or items from our wishlist. Others would rather donate their time as volunteers. Regardless of what form your charitable giving takes, you can make a positive impact in our community!
Donating
You can help support CHA by giving monetary or item donations.
- General donations to our operating expenses are always welcome in any amount.
- Donations for our veterinary care fund, which enable us to provide routine medical care to every animal, are also welcome in any amount.
- Consider including CHA in your will.
- Attend one of our fundraisers.
- We love getting donations of the following things that we need to maintain the shelter:
- Bleach
- Paper Towels
- Cat Litter
- Garbage Bags (13 gallon size)
- Laundry Detergent
- Manila File Folders
- Postage Stamps (first class)
Volunteering
Do you have a passion for animals? CHA has dozens of volunteer opportunities suited to many different kinds of skills. We are always looking for people to fill the following positions. Please contact the shelter manager for more information.
- Dog Walkers: Come by the shelter during our open hours to help give the homeless dogs a little extra exercise. All of our dogs are walked at least twice per day and they love meeting new people and going for a stroll. Must be at least 18 years old to walk dogs.
- Dog or Cat Socializers: Our critters would really like to meet you, so if you’ve got some extra time on your hands, come by and play with cats and/or dogs for awhile. The shelter animals can always use more love and attention.
- Grant Writers: Do you have grant writing skills that you’d like to share? We are always looking for experienced grant writers to help us obtain additional funding for our important work.
- Booth Attendents: If you like to chat with people you might enjoy being an attendant at our sales and information booth at local county fairs and holiday boutiques.
- Special Events Volunteers: We are always in need of motivated individuals to help us put on our special events, including the annual spring Animal Expo and the annual FurBall in November.
